What are Suicide Warning Signs?

In recent news there have been a number of tragic deaths by suicide, all related to school shootings. Some warning signs that your loved one may be at risk for suicide are social isolation, withdrawn behaviors, sadness, crying, sleep changes, and appetite changes. Seeking mental health treatment is crucial and can be life-saving for people exhibiting signs of depression or anxiety.

In the video below I quickly layout what loved ones can look for and what they can do to help prevent suicide. Suicide hot lines and mental health professionals should also be utilized at the earliest recognition there could be any risk. Suicide is difficult to predict and it is better to err on the side of caution.
